Adult Learning Center
What is the Adult Learning Center?
The West Virginia Department of Education recognizes the need for Adult Education programs to provide Adult Learners with the skills necessary to be successful in post-secondary education, vocational education, and the work force. Our educational services are available at no cost to the Adult Learner and are designed to meet the individual needs of each learner. We provide a variety of services. Students must be at least 17 years of age and not currently enrolled in a public school.
The Adult Learning Center offers many free opportunities for educational growth in adult learners. The most frequently requested program prepares students to earn a high school equivalency diploma.
Refresher classes in reading, math and writing are available for students enrolling in college or vocational training. We assist students to prepare for college entrance exams (Accuplacer, ACT, SAT). We also offer opportunities for career preparation and exploration, as well as certification programs in customer service, Digital Literacy and Microsoft Office.
